That Pink Velvet Two Piece

Welcome to the third segment of our weekly lingerie review; where we rate lingerie and tell you what's the real deal and what's not as cute as it seems.

The two piece that we will be reviewing today, as advertised:

So I think we can all agree right off the hop that the top and bottom pieces pictured to the right are clearly not even close to the same as what the pictured model on the left is actually wearing. Here is the pink colour I ordered:

About two weeks later it arrived....

Out of the package, it looks pretty much the same as the sets that were pictured off the models. It looked like it would fit alright. The material was nice and soft as well!

The top and the bottom fit quite differently; the top was a little big and the bottoms fit a little smaller; but overall not bad for fit. The cut of the bottoms was a little odd; even from the pictures its hard to decipher if they're meant to fit like shorts or more of a bikini cut. Either way, I will always hike them up to my waist and create that beautiful wedgie effect when taking boudie photos.

Velvet has got to be one of my favourite materials to photograph!

Overall I'd say this two piece definitely came through!

Comfort -⭐⭐⭐⭐

The material is so soft which makes it fairly comfy! The awkward cut of the bottoms is what costed this piece a star in the comfort category.

Quality- ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This two piece is more than acceptable quality; thin but not too thin. Not see-through! Soft, comfortable material with an alright fit. The slightly odd design/cut to this two piece is the only thing costing it in multiple categories! Sizing-⭐⭐ The sizing I was a little disappointed with. Usually it's either too big or too small, you don't usually get a mix of both within the same outfit so that was special. A top a little too big, and bottoms a little too small. Finding the right combination of sizes that would work for any body type would be a challenge with this velvet set due to the very limited sizing available. Photographability/ Style- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ordering and photographing pink anything can either go really good or really bad. Some shades of pink are hard to work with because no other colours look cohesive with them. Other shades of pink, like this one, are great to work with and seem to blend nicely wherever you put them. Not only the color, but the material it's made with, can make or break how something will photograph as well. The way velvet reflects light makes it a great match for boudie photos! Silk or other shiny materials usually look amazing as well. This set was purchased to be photographed, and it delivered!

Reliability- ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If they didn't include the image of the model wearing something that is clearly not this set in their advertisement, reliability would have been almost perfect. The set looks exactly as pictured in the images without a model. What the intention of the cut on the bottoms originally was, we'll never know, as it is equally as ambiguous in the advertised photos as it is in person!

Overall- ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Despite the slightly off fit to this set, it does photograph very well! The material and colour are what really came through with this set. Definitely need more velvet items to review!
