That "Crotch-tastic" Bodysuit

Welcome to the second segment of our weekly lingerie review; where we rate lingerie and tell you what's the real deal and what's not as cute as it seems.

The bodysuit (actually a bathing suit) that we will be reviewing today, as advertised:

You can view the link here. I originally purchased this because I just wanted a new one-piece bathing suit for myself that summer. I liked the low cut back on this one and it was a decent price so I figured I'd try it. I ordered it in black and size large; a size up just to be safe because I've ordered from Wish before and they tend to run quite small.

About two weeks later it arrived....

It looked like it was a reasonable size (sometimes a Wish XXXL won't fit someone who normally wears M/L) and not completely see-through (which is also a common gamble with items from Wish). It was actual bathing suit material and had some lining, as advertised. I was hopeful, even as I began to put it on, it seemed too good to be true...

and it was! As soon as I pulled the shoulder straps up, I instantly knew I would NEVER be able to leave the house with this thing on! Swipe for a comparison of just how high up this bodysuit goes compared where I usually wear my underwear (which is already quite high up!) It may not have been good for actual swimwear but I figured I would give it a chance to redeem itself; it might be a little crotchtastic, but it sure does take good boudie shots.

No matter how "flawed" something may seem, if you work with its strengths, you just might get something good from it!

Safe to say, this swimsuit found its home in the client closet, forever disguised as a bodysuit.

Comfort -⭐⭐

The material of this "bodysuit"is decently comfortable as it is a bathing suit and therefore made of bathing suit material. As for the comfort, design wise; awful. It feels like the Chinese finger trap of bathing suits; wedging further and further with every movement.

Quality- ⭐⭐⭐

Aside from the obvious design flaw of this bathing suit, the quality of the material is acceptable. Things from Wish tend to be rather see-through so that's always my biggest worry when ordering bodysuits from there but this one pleasantly surprised me with the quality of material compared to the price.

Sizing-⭐ When I first shared this Wish find in my VIP group, the term we coined for the way this thing fits was "crotchtastic". It's misleading at first to try-on; just when you think it's going to fit well, you pull up the shoulder straps and get quite the surprise with just how high up it goes! No matter what size you get with this bodysuit, the cut will never fit quite right (unless you're Barbie with the waist, legs and everything in between to match!) Having ordered the second largest size, I'm confident there's not a lot of hope of this bathing suit fitting many, if any, body types well.

Photographability/ Style- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Despite all my critiques thus far, the one thing I can't take away from this bodysuit is that it does look STUNNING in pictures. I ordered it in black because it's a safe bet, it goes with everything. Though the awkward cut might make this a stay-at-home bathing suit, it does work really well for boudoir posing; you just have to know how to pose to play to it's strengths. With the ultra high waistline; poses that are meant to accentuate the thigh/hip/butt area look amazing in this piece! The low cut back also pleasantly adds to the aforementioned boudie shots. The side of this bodysuit is also low cut making it a good choice for "side-profile type" boudoir shots!

Reliability- ⭐⭐⭐

It was advertised as a bathing suit. It came with bathing suit material but it does not fit like it looks like it should fit. I think the way this model fits into this bodysuit is quite misleading; no matter what body type or size anyone has, this bodysuit will never fit as pictured. It just simply isn't realistic; either the advertised photo is Photoshopped OR the bathing suit they sent me was not the same as the one pictured. But at least it wasn't see-through! Overall- ⭐⭐⭐ It is cute for boudie shoots? ABSOLUTELY.

Would I wear it anywhere outside of the studio or longer than 15 minutes? NOPE.
