Tanis and I had been in contact long before she made the leap to book her boudoir session. She messaged me in regards to content in our Facebook group over the years. Though our views were sometimes different, our conversations were always amazing. When she finally made the decision to book her boudoir session, our first consultation felt like catching up with an old friend! It was such an honour to capture her beauty; we had so much fun during her session! Here's what she had to say about her experience:
"Every person should have this experience, at least once in their life.
Don't let age hold you back. Don't let body image, or inhibitions, or insecurities hold you back. I guarantee if you follow Dev's lead, you will have a life-changing experience. They will ensure you are comfortable and guide you only to where you feel you can go. There are no demands, no expectations, no requirements. Just embrace the process and above all else, have fun!
I'm no youngster – not even close – and although I was intrigued by the idea of a boudoir photoshoot, I convinced myself that it was for much younger women. Then I started thinking: why can't I? I'll never have the 'perfect' body or be the 'perfect' age. What I finally realized after giving it more thought is that NOW is the perfect time. I was absolutely right.
When I arrived at the studio I was grateful I would have the hair and makeup time to try to relax a bit. That by itself was a great experience and I recommend that choice. Once we got started, Dev proceeded at a comfortable, steady pace, moving professionally through various poses and wardrobe changes. They quietly, and with humour at times (well, a lot of humour at times, but that's another story), and drew me into the process until I realized I had completely turned over control to them. It was a heady, exhilarating, wonderful experience. I could have gone on for a lot longer and was sorry when they said we were done.
The photo reveal day was almost as exciting. I still can't believe that is me in those amazing pictures! Dev isn't just a photographer, they're a magician, with a bit of counsellor and cheerleader thrown in.
Change your life, throw away your stereotypes and self-doubts. Be a Goddess.
Dev, thank you so very much."
